Tony Stark is my hero because i need a hero who struggles. Not just with criminals, villains or any outside force, but with more of their own demons than they will ever let anyone know.
I need a hero who finds themself again and again face-down in the mud and shattered remnants of their own mistakes but /always/ manages, somehow, to get back up. No matter if someone pushed them there or if they tripped on their own faults, they pick themself back up and /keep going/. Not because they have to, not because the world’s at stake, but just because they’re trying so hard to be /good/.
Tony Stark is my hero because he’s had his trust betrayed so many times, but it hasn’t turned him angry and bitter like too many other characters. Because no matter how deep in the dark he gets, he never stops caring about the world, about /people/.
Because his brain moves at a thousand miles an hour and I know what that’s like, how isolating it can be. Because he’s always wearing some kind of mask or another, because he’s /always had to/ and I know what that’s like, too. Because he carries his own shit on his own shoulders, and built his own superpowers with his mind and his skills and his own two grease-stained hands.
I just fucking love Tony Stark.

Я вот сейчас что-то сидела, думала, смотрела ленту и еще раз пожалела, что Марвел все сделает ваще не так, как нам хочется.
Никогда Стив не придет и не попросит прощения у Тони и никогда Тони не сделают героем, который спасет жопы всей половине команды Мстителей, которая свалила в закат, абы не отвечать за свои поступки. Никогда. Просто потому что Марвел ВСЕГДА делает Стива правым и ВСЕГДА играет ему на руку. ВСЕГДА.
И я на 100% уверена, что даже если случится жопа, которая заставит действовать всех вместе, сглаживать углы будет снова Тони, а Стив будет с суровым лицом смотреть на него так, что Тони будет извиняться за все, начиная от Великой Депрессии и заканчивая вспышками на солнце. И еще Стив сильно обидится за Баки. Вот прям сильно. Тони, виш, не простил и не полюбил убийцу своих родителей, который как бы и не виноват, но как бы это и сделал. Короче, что-то мне подсказывает, что следующий фильм будет называться "Какая то глобальная хуйня, но виноват все равно Тони, а Стив все порешал".

Ну вот блин и хер пойми-разбери, то ли они за одно, то ли Стив гонится за Тони, чтобы переубедить его по всем законам демократии Стива Роджерса. Но я буду надеяться на лучшее) Вместе эти двое могут и мир перевернуть)

Потому что ко мне приехали два чудо-стаканчика с Тони и Стивом от волшебницы Mister_Key. Спасибо тебе, ты замурчательный человек!
А стаканчики такие мур-мур-мур и мимими, что сил нет! Это же...это же... Это же я теперь со стаканчика с Тони буду пить по утрам кофе, а со стаканчика со Стивом буду на работе хреначить травяной чай литрами!

Оказывается у меня в черновиках валялся недописаный пост о комиксной Гражданке еще со времен, как я ее только прочитала.

*takes a deep breath* okay, now if you want a transcript of the letter, it’s here. okay, so let’s dissect it line by line:
Tony,
I’m glad you’re back at the compound. I don’t like the idea of you rattling around a mansion by yourself. We all need family. The Avengers are yours - maybe more so than mine.
already the letter makes very little sense and is very patronizing in tone but let’s ignore that. how can he say ‘the avengers are yours’ when he knows full well that most of the avengers are locked up in a prison, don’t trust tony or directly blame him for being imprisoned/apart from their families etc? plus, they have no idea what transpired in siberia so who are they going to blame for cap and bucky’s disappearance? tony. they aren’t going to know about the video or all the shitstorm that’s befallen tony the whole movie, they’re just going to (justifiably) hate him. the sheer ignorance of it baffles me: he knows that tony and pepper have broken up, that the avengers aren’t there, the only person who are there are rhodey and vision: rhodey, who is paralyzed and is just starting rehabilitation of his own and vision who is scared and insecure about his own powers, and more importantly, an android aka someone who cannot relate on a human emotional level. what a lovely support system, right?
‘the avengers are yours more than mine’– ?? this makes no sense, at the end of aou, steve explicitly tells tony at the end of aou that he’s home, that he belongs in the compound with the avengers. he’s spent years emphasizing teamwork and communication and more than a year training the new avengers and now suddenly ‘they’re yours’? what a lovely way to shirk off all responsibility and leave. and more importantly, he is the one who breaks the avengers out of prison. how the fuck are ‘the avengers are yours’ then? this is illogical on so many levels.
I’ve been on my own since I was eighteen. I never really fit in anywhere, even in the army.
but he literally said at the end of aou that, and i quote : ‘i’m home’ by acknowledging that he isn’t the same person who went into the ice and that his priorities have changed.
My faith’s in… people, I guess. Individuals. And, I’m happy to say that for the most part, they haven’t let me down.
yes, he has tons of faith in people. which is why he didn’t listen when tony offered multiple compromises throughout the course of the movie, including offering to help bucky rehabilitate in a psychiatric facility. which is why he said ‘he wouldn’t believe me anyway’ and didn’t ask for tony’s help with bucky, essentially making the decision for him and not even giving him the chance to understand bucky’s situation and help. which is why he never told tony about the truth of his parents’ murder because he didn’t trust tony with the information about his own family.
Which is why I can’t let them down either. Locks can be replaced, but maybe they shouldn’t.
yes, locks should be replaced because otherwise we descend into a system of anarchy and paranoia where anyone is free to encroach upon our lives and we have no means of protecting them. locks are a defensive necessity, they protect people. but i won’t argue semantics.
I know I hurt you, Tony. I guess I thought by not telling you about your parents I was sparing you, but… I can see now that I was really sparing myself. And I’m sorry. Hopefully one day you can understand.
now this i can believe. thank you, steve, for acknowledging at least that the reason you didn’t tell tony about his parents had nothing to do with him. thank you for admitting that you were simply sparing yourself, that couldn’t have been easy to do.
I wish we agreed on the Accords, I really do. I know you’re doing what you believe in, and that’s all any of us can do – it’s all any of us should.
again with the unbelievable amount of patronization! at no point does he admit that that he sees the merits of tony’s point of view, even if he may not agree with them (something that tony repeatedly does in the movie). he doesn’t even offer a compromise on the accords or extend an olive branch regarding the future of the accords. he’s like the dickbag boyfriend in the movies who, when asked ‘do you believe me?’ answers ‘i believe you believe that.’
So no matter what, I promise you. If you need us – if you need me – I’ll be there.
yes, he’ll be there. unless tony wants to talk about how steve hid something so enormous from him, or wants to talk about bucky being involved in his parents’ death, or how he disagrees on the accords, or basically unless he remotely disagrees with steve on anything at which point he’ll promptly cease being there. now of course, this is just speculation on my part but i’m simply extrapolating from the events of the movie.
honestly, a note that simply said ‘tony, i’m sorry’ would have been much, much better because it would’ve left open the possibility of genuine communication between the two of them. instead, this letter only reinforces that steve’s priorities are vastly different now, that unlike tony steve feels no remorse for his actions and the narrative will always be biased towards him because he’s ‘captain america’. he’s never going to need to be accountable for anything.
but you know what’s the worst part about the whole thing? the way that tony sort of fiddles with the phone and has this sad half-smile as he reads the letter. because he’s the futurist and ultimately he will be right: that the biggest threats to them are not the accords or their distrust in one another, it’s going to come from the realm of the unknown aka thanos. and when that does, tony is the one who’s going to go and grovel and beg for the avengers to return and he’s the one who’s going to swallow his pride and give cap his shield back, because he will prioritise the avengers and the general public, and a team which is united over their dislike for him will still be preferable to him than a team that is non existent.
